“…According to a new pathophysiological explanation reported recently by Hilfiker-Kleiner et al, a 16 kDa form of the post-partally upregulated hormone prolactin initiates cell apoptosis and disrupts capillaries, thus inducing myocardial damage and heart failure [4].
