Abstract:Three types of biomasses (miscanthus, spruce, and a mixture of different woodchips species) were tested as low-cost adsorption media for an industrial agro-industrial effluent, typically a vinasse. Influences of effluent dilution, working temperature, and time duration were studied. Kinetic modelling studies of adsorption were proposed. Ratios of adsorption at ambient temperature and without dilution expressed in g of dry vinasse per g of dry biomass were 1.0, 0.85, and 0.65 for miscanthus, woodchips mixture, … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
