“…Possible differential diagnoses for intraluminal tracheal nodules in dogs included parasites ( Oslerus osleri , Onchocerca species),3–5 primary and metastatic neoplasia (cartilaginous tumours such as osteochondroma, chondroma, chondrosarcoma; mast cell tumour, leiomyoma),6 7 eosinophilic granuloma,8 nodular hyperplastic tracheitis,9 nodular amyloidosis,10 tracheal papillomatosis11 and tracheobronchopathia osteochondroplastica 12…”

“…We are aware of a single case of suspected immunoglobulin G4‐related disease (IgG4‐RD) in a dog, which ultimately could not be confirmed . It is unclear if any of the eosinophilic granuloma cases previously reported in Husky dogs share a common pathogenesis with IgG4‐RD, but the cases do describe involvement of mass‐like lesions around the head or abdominal organs, fibroplasia and lymphoplasmacytic inflammation . Ours is the first reported case with clinical support for a diagnosis of IgG4‐RD in a dog.…”

“…or b.i.d. over a three-to four-week period is usually adequate to control clinical manifestations of the granulomas and strikingly, spontaneous remission has been also reported (Adamama-Moraitou et al 2015).…”

“…Dogs or cats of any age may be affected, although it is more common in dogs less than three years of age and predominately females (Sykes et al 2001;Wallace et al 2012). Rottweilers, Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes may be more likely to develop EP than other breeds (Moon 1992;Sykes et al 2001;Wallace et al 2012;Katajavuori et al 2013;Adamama-Moraitou et al 2015). It is possible that antigenic sources can trigger a hypersensitivity reaction, such as bacteria, fungi, parasites, inhaled allergens or drugs (Akuthota and Weller 2012) and neoplasia (Fina et al 2014).…”
