Abstract:A man in his mid-70s with a complex medical history, including splenectomy, presented with fever and rigours. Workup revealedSalmonella entericaserotypetyphimuriumbacteraemia and right internal iliac artery endarteritis. Two weeks following a 6-week course of antibiotics, he had a recurrence of Salmonella bacteraemia requiring an extended course of treatment.
