Abstract:This paper proposes a reduced complexity equalizer for the Enhanced Data rate for Global Evolution (EDGE). The complexity of this equalizer has been lowered to fit into Digital Signal Processors (DSP) computation power of the STMicroelectronics STW51000 platform. A combination of reduced complexity methods usually not combined, to avoid low BER performance issues, has been done in this study. Computer simulations with channel coding show the conformance with 3GPP specifications of the proposed equalizer.
