Reducing Costs and Improving Processes for the Interventional Cardiology Patient

Abstract: The cardiology unit at the University of Chicago Hospitals developed a cost-saving mechanism in the care of postinterventional cardiology patients, reducing time spent in the coronary care unit. Increased nursing education and training and better identification of patient outcomes made this collaborative effort a cost-saving and effective pilot.
