Abstract:Decision-making systems consisting of n independent decision devices and designed to include a simple voting redundancy scheme are discussed. It is shown how to determine the threshold level or minimum number of votes that must be received so as to minimize the probability of the system making an incorrect decision. Applications of such systems can be found in the areas of target detection and fault isolation of electronic equipment.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
