Objective This study aimed to compare the preductal oxygen saturation (SpO2) and heart rate (HR) in newborns during the initial 5 minutes after birth with delayed cord clamping (DCC) and early cord clamping (ECC) practices at sea level. Study Design This prospective observational study included newborns born at >34 weeks vaginally (Dharampur, Gujarat) or through caesarean section (CS) (Kolkata, West Bengal). In Dharampur, the newborns received ECC practice (8 weeks) followed by DCC practice (10 weeks). In Kolkata, the newborns received ECC practice only (8 weeks). Results The newborns with DCC (n = 170) had significantly higher SpO2 (3–8%) throughout than those with ECC born either vaginally (n = 178) or through CS (n = 101). The newborns with DCC had slower rise in HR during the first 2 minutes than those with ECC. The 5th and 10th percentile values of SpO2 for newborns with DCC practice were higher than those with ECC practice. Conclusion The trends of SpO2 and HR during the first 5 minutes after birth indicate a relatively smoother cardiopulmonary transition by delaying cord clamping till placental delivery compared with early clamping. The reference ranges can be used for Indian newborns born by uncomplicated vaginal delivery with DCC during the first 5 minutes.

A baby incubator is a heating device for premature babies so that the baby's temperature matches the temperature in the mother's womb. Premature babies are babies born in abnormal conditions where the baby's body size is below average or the gestational age has not reached 9 months. The aim of this study was to create a compact system at a low cost in an infant incubator. Apart from stabilizing the temperature, it can also calculate the premature baby's heart rate and oxygen saturation value. The contribution of the system being built can detect the early symptoms of congenital abnormalities so that abnormalities detection becomes more practical. The temperature stability in this system uses a threshold system, where the sensor readings are compared with the set point value. Meanwhile, the SpO2 system uses a finger sensor attached to the baby's finger to detect oxygen saturation and heart rate. The signal from the sensor is processed in a signal conditioning circuit consisting of an astable circuit, filter and amplifier, LPF, and demultiplexer. Based on the results of testing and measurement, the difference produced by this tool is only 0.13 - 0.182 ° C. The biggest error in the system is 0.517%. Measurement of skin temperature was carried out on 10 respondents with an average value of 34.825 ° C. so that the difference generated from this tool is only 0.175 ° C, the difference on the Humidity parameter is 0.21%. The average BPM reading of respondent 1 was 81 beats per minute and the average SpO2 value was 97%. The average BPM reading of respondent 2 was 83 beats per minute and the average SpO2 value was 98%. You can see that the module with the Arduino control system can work automatically and is able to adjust the stability of the baby incubator according to the settings. In addition, the BPM and SpO2 systems are within tolerance so they can be used for patient measurements

Electrocardiograph (ECG) secara rutin dilakukan oleh operator terampil yang terbiasa dengan penempatan masing-masing elektroda pada pasien. Posisi elektroda yang salah dapat menyebabkan kesalahan kritis dalam diagnosis dan perawatan penyakit jantung. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendesain sebuah Portable Electrocardiograph dengan Sadapan Pada Telapak Tangan dan Kaki. Kontribusi dari penelitian ini adalah memudahkan orang awam dalam bidang kesehatan dalam hal penggunaan Electrocardiograph. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan mendesain Electrocardiograph yang cukup terjangkau bagi puskesmas/pusat-pusat pelayanan medis di daerah. Agar desain ini dapat memudahkan dalam metode penggunaan alat, maka dibuatlah alat Electrocardiograph (ECG) dengan elektroda pad yang akan diletakkan pada telapak tangan dan telapak kaki yang telah di berikan tanda pada elektroda tersebut. Electrocardiograph (ECG) menggunakan desain High Pass Filter (Pasif 20dB ditambah Non Inverting Amplifier, Low Pass Filter (LPF) 40dB, dan notch filter yang akan ditampilkan pada layar monitor Personal Computer (PC). Dari hasil sadapan beberapa responden, terlihat hasil tampilan yang menyerupai/mendekati sinyal Electrocardiograph (ECG) sebenarnya. Kekurangan dari modul ini jika tidak adanya grounding yang baik dari power suply maka akan terjadi noise pada hasil sinyal yang akan ditampilkan. Hasil penelitian ini dapat di implementasikan pada Electrocardiograph (ECG) konvensional untuk meningkatkan kemudahan dalam hal penggunaan alat.
