“…The real rates of radiotherapy use vary greatly and are reported to be between 20% and 55% of cancers [2, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11]. Vulto et al [1], in a study of the population of the southern Netherlands conducted between 1988 and 2002, reported a rate of irradiation of 30-32%, analysing solely patients irradiated during the first 6 months after the oncological diagnosis, and showed annual increases of 3.3%. In Sweden, rates of 32% were calculated in 1992, which rose to 47% by 2001 [3].…”
