Reflecting on Social Identities in Teacher Education

Abstract: This paper explores the author's experience in supporting teacher candidates to consider how their social locations affect their teaching. Pedagogical strategies to examine social identities are described and teacher candidates' responses to these strategies are examined critically within the broader context of pursuing social justice and equity within schools.
