Reflection of Plane Waves in a Transversely Isotropic Rotating Microstretch Elastic Half-Space

Princy Gupta,
Jitander Singh Sikka

Abstract: In this paper, the impact of rotation on the propagation of plane waves for various rotation parameter values has been studied. For this purpose, a model has been developed which is assumed to rotate with uniform angular velocity. A transversely isotropic solid medium with microstretch elastic properties has linear governing equations that are focused in the x-z plane. For the incident Coupled Longitudinal Displacement (CLD) wave, four reflected coupled plane waves exists in the same medium. A half-space surfa… Show more

“…They have also explored the reflection and transmission of plane waves from the plane interface between two different microstretch elastic solid half-spaces. Some notable works related to reflection/transmission phenomena in microstretch elastic solid media having some additional properties include Singh and Kumar [12], Kumar and Rupender [13], Tomar and Khurana [14], Singh [15], Song et al [16], Zhang et al [17], Singh and Yadav [18], Deswal et al [19], Gupta and Sikka [20] among several others.…”
