For LCs, temperature shifts at phase transitions during heating and cooling like this, which are due to superheating and supercooling of LC, represent thermal hysteresis that means a first-order phase transition and is a characteristic behavior for such LCs. Thereafter, the existence of 7cb within the fiber could be verified with the results of DSC. It is crucial to state that showing the DSC analyses of c500 -doped fiber (PAN/7CB/C500) was found unnecessary here since the c500 does not possess any phase transition at the scanning temperature interval in which the DSC analysis was done.…”
