Registration of the wheat D‐genome nested association mapping (DNAM) population

Abstract: Modern wheat is lacking diversity in the D genome due to the genetic bottleneck from the hybridization between tetraploid Triticum turgidum L. and diploid Aegilops tauschii Coss. The D‐genome nested association mapping (DNAM) population (Reg. no. MP‐14, NSL 536301 MAP) was developed to expand D‐genome variation in hexaploid wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). The DNAM population is a wheat nested association mapping population developed with direct crosses between the hard‐white winter Kansas State University breedi… Show more

“…A single BC 1 F 1 plant was recovered and backcrossed to KS05HW14‐3 as the male parent and designated U6719 (KS05HW14‐3/3/KS05HW14‐3/TA1718//KS05HW14‐3). A total of 14 BC 2 F 1 plants belonging to the U6719 family were advanced by single‐seed‐descent to the BC 2 F 4 generation when the seed from a single plant was harvested and increased in subsequent generations to produce BC 2 F 4 –derived lines (Strauss et al., 2020). Based on stripe rust disease screening, of the 14 lines belonging to the U6719 family, two lines were fixed for resistance (U6719‐004 and U6719‐008), and one line was segregating for resistance (U6719‐020).…”
