Regression Model on Pagaralam Coffee Farmers’ Income With the Influence of the Use of Herbicide Reductant Variable

Abstract: The existence of weeds in coffee fields will become competitors for coffee plants, so that they can be economically and ecologically detrimental. Inappropriate use of chemical herbicides can have a negative impact. Herbicide reductants made from organic are used in weed control. This study aims to analyze the variables that affect the net income of Pagaralam coffee farmers using multiple linear regression analysis. One of these variables is a qualitative variable in the form of categories of respondents based … Show more

“…There was a relationship between the respondent's category and every category variable, including education, land conditions, frequency of herbicide use, number of workers, and length of harvest period. However, by using a multiple regression model, it was found that the factor of the use of reductant herbicide had no significant effect on the net income of coffee farmers [27].…”

“…The enter method is carried out by entering all the independent variables, then evaluating which independent variables have a significant effect on the dependent variable. Meanwhile, the stepwise method is carried out by selecting automatically only the independent variables that affect the dependent variable [23]. The stepwise method is a method in regression analysis that helps the analysis process to get the best model [44].…”

“…They realized the importance of using reductants to minimize the negative effects of using herbicides. The age of the trees and the average planting area per 1 tree were 2 of the 4 factors that distinguish the character of the 2 categories of respondents as users and not users of reductant herbicides [23]. Using the multiple regression model, the qualitative variable in the form of herbicide use did not have a significant effect on the net income of respondents [24].…”

“…This study used data from 136 respondents of Pagaralam coffee farmers with 21 variables, including production and income variables. Variables that have a significant effect on net income are gross income, land maintenance costs, estimated yields, and tree age [25]. Furthermore, multivariate analysis is needed to determine the interdependence among the variables studied, including using cluster analysis and also two groups analysis.…”
