“…It prevents the uptake of glucose by different cancer cell lines, lowers NF-қB activity, which slows the growth of tumours, and improves lethality by causing the production of intracellular ROS. [105] In another investigation, hesperetin was found to enhance the anticancer medication cisplatin's activity in the treatment of pulmonary cancer. Hesperetin was shown to suppress the multidrug resistance protein, which has been linked to the tolerance to cisplatin that has evolved in a significant percentage of patients receiving cancer treatment.…”

“…In recent years, extracellular vesicle-like nanoparticles (EVNs) have been isolated from the fresh juice of various edible plants. , EVNs are composed of lipids, proteins, nucleic acids, and other components, which can be delivered into recipient cells to induce cross-species interference. , However, it is not clear whether lemon-derived EVNs (LEVNs) also have the same or even better effects as CA alone and, if so, how such EVNs work. Cumulative data indicate that exposure of the CaOx crystal induces endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress response of RTECs, which is manifested by increased cytoplasmic Ca 2+ signal and expression of glucose-regulated protein78/immunoglobulin binding protein (GRP78/BIP) and C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP). Mitochondria help buffer transient Ca 2+ elevations, but overloaded ER-to-mitochondria Ca 2+ transfer leads to mitochondrial damage and cell apoptosis. , Previous results indicated citrus-derived compounds could inhibit ER stress. , However, it remains vague whether LEVNs interfere with kidney stones by dominating ER stress suppression.…”

“…Severe diarrhea can cause dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, and nutritional deficiency, which are associated with premature death in 5% of cancer patients [ 120 ]. Hesperidin is a natural flavonoid widely found in fruits and flowers, with a variety of pharmacological activities such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, cardiovascular protection, and antitumor [ 121 ]. Oral administration of hesperidin 20 mg/kg and 100 mg/kg significantly reduced irinotecan-induced diarrhea in CT-26 tumor-bearing immune mice and reduced the risk of severe diarrhea.…”
