Regulatory Effect of Transforming Growth Factor-.BETA. in an Experimental Wound Healing of the Periodontium.

Abstract

Transforming growth factor-fl (TGF-g) is a polypeptide biologic mediator considered to play a role in the wound healing processes including cell proliferation and migration. The purpose of this study was to clear if TGF-/3 world stimulate the proliferation of fibroblasts and futher enhance tissue regeneration in vivo. Standardized 3 x 5 mm buccal fenestration defects were made at midroot level in five beagle dogs.
