“…Mechanisms of action, applications, contraindications, and adverse effects of cryotherapy, pulsed electromagnetic field therapy, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, and laser therapy are reviewed. It has been shown that adding one or more of these therapies to an anaesthetic pain management regimen can improve outcomes and reduce potential drug side effects [3]. Temkin-Greener et al con-ducted data surveys based on methods such as minimal data set assessments, vital statistics, nursing home comparison websites, LTCFocus, and district health resource files.…”

“…Pain related to primary dysmenorrhea may be related to excessive production and release of prostaglandins by the endometrium, which causes vigorous contraction of the muscles of the uterus, leading to local ischemia (Kannan and Claydon, 2014). The reduction in local blood flow, due to vasoconstriction caused by cold (Flaherty, 2019), could increase the aforementioned ischemia, however, cryotherapy also induces a lower oxygen requirement by the tissues, as well as reduces the firing of nerve fibers (Yeng et al, 2001;de Souza and Ueda, 2014), thus the pain reduction achieved by the CryoG may be based on these physiological effects.…”

“…Cryotherapy is a technique that uses cold to remove heat from the body tissue. This technique results in vasoconstriction, causing reduced tissue blood flow, oxygen utilization, inflammatory process, and muscle spasm; it then results in decreased metabolism, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects (Shi et al, 2017;da Silva et al, 2018;Flaherty, 2019). It is indicated for the treatment of pain generated by traumatic and/or inflammatory musculoskeletal disorders, mainly acute, for the reduction of edema and induction of muscle relaxation (Malanga et al, 2015;Young et al, 2016;do Nascimento-Júnior et al, 2019).…”

“…За даними літератури епідуральна аналгезія призводить до статистично значущих, знижень показників болю порівняно з внутрішньовенною аналгезією. Триває дискусія, чи призводить епідуральна аналгезія до зменшення ускладнень та поліпшення результатів і чи зберігається рівень якості життя пацієнтів [4,5].…”
