Abstract

The subject "claims in civil construction" is the object of several studies, however, not too much progress has been done in getting to a fixed price contract type, that could avoid discussions over this subject at the end of the construction. This fact, to models that are too sensitive to increase of inicial cost, can generate a desconfiguration of the inicial premises, which are the ones that will be the base for the investiment decision. The present paper tries to relate, based on the existent literature, the subject related to Claims in Civil construction contracts". Its main objective is to relate briefly, how they are characterized and to present, based on a case study, the main type of claims that are common on retail construction contract.
