“…Relatively minor increases in soil water content under compost addition, compared to the control, may provide a yield benefit. DeHaan et al (1999) using potato bulk yield monitoring with global positioning system showed that a relatively small range (20 to 25% H 2 O) in soil water content (at -0.033 MPa), across commercial potato fields in Prince Edward Island, was significantly (P = 0.05, r = 0.82) related to potato tuber yield differences of 5 to 7 Mg ha -1 .
