“…A systematic review study in 2022 indicated that social support as an influential factor in persistence and success of the EBF has four dimensions: emotional support, appraisal support, informational support and material and service support and it should be promoted individually or collectively from pregnancy to postpartum period to promote EBF [ 76 ]. Fadjriah et al [ 77 ] in a cross-sectional study identified emotional, instrumental, informational, and appraisal dimensions which were consistent with the three extracted factors of our study. It demonstrated that all four dimensions have a significant relationship with EBF and not receiving social support is a substantial obstacle that leads to EBF failure [ 77 ].…”

“…Similar results were found in a previous study, where support from the mother-in-law was shown to be 2.68 times more likely to increase the success of exclusive breastfeeding in infants, so this determinant needs to be taken into account when planning interventions aimed at increasing the success of exclusive breastfeeding (Fadjriah et al, 2021). In addition, family and paternal support is influential in providing encouragement and decision support for working mothers to continue exclusive breastfeeding.…”

“…This is no different from the research conducted by Rosmiati (2020), in which providing honey to newborns has become a hereditary culture carried out by mothers living in rural areas, where it is considered that the baby will become healthier. Another reason newborn infants are smeared with honey is because of recommendations from parents or inlaws who have instilled this habit as part of an inherited culture (Fadjriah et al, 2021).…”
