Buffalo (Bubalus bubalis), a member of the Bovidae family, is traditionally found in south Asian countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, and Afghanistan. Moreover, buffaloes are also found in the Middle East, Europe, the former Soviet Union countries, South America, and the Caribbean (Abd El-Salam & El-Shibiny, 2011). Buffalo milk can be used in the production of butter, cream, cheese, ice-cream, and yogurt. The population of buffaloes is about 170 million heads worldwide with the majority found in Asia (97% of which India represents about 56%, Pakistan 14% and China 13%) and Africa (2%) (Kashwa, 2016).
