Relationships among ultrasonic and mechanical properties of cancellous bone in human calcaneus in vitro

Abstract: Clinical bone sonometers applied at the calcaneus measure broadband ultrasound attenuation and speed of sound. However, the relation of ultrasound measurements to bone strength is not well-characterized.
