“…FAs are key variables in the assessment of fish health because they can influence key populationlevel processes, such as natural mortality, reproduction, and growth (which, in turn, affect stock) (Trippel et al, 1997;Lloret et al, 2007;Carbonara et al, 2015). Our results help to understand how the health of exploited fish stocks is affected by habitats, and can be used for the management of marine fisheries (Lloret et al, 2012;Gücü et al, 2021). In this sense, the cessation or restriction of trawling activity in habitats where fish can obtain high quality food that has higher concentrations of PUFAs can contribute to protecting the goods and services than these infauna and fish provide in form of essential FA as PUFAs and move towards an ecosystem-based system of fishery management.…”
