-010Relaxational Behavior and Spin Freezing in Ferrates with Iron in a Pyramidal Oxygen Coordination.-The ferrates Bi0.5Sr1.5YCu1.5Fe0.5O6 (I) and Sr2Pb0.5Y0.5CuFeO6 (II), both having structures based on double layers of (Cu,Fe)O5 pyramids, are studied by 57 Fe Moessbauer spectroscopy in the temp. range 4.2-380 K. The spectra of both compounds show a strong relaxational character indicating a gradual freezing of the Fe spins, reminiscent of the behavior of concentrated spin glasses. The temp. of practically complete freezing of the Fe spin system is around 40 K for (I) and 60 K for (II). Spin defreezing takes place over large temp. ranges and is complete at 295 and 340 K for (I) and (II), respectively. -(FILOTI, G.; AVRAMESCU, A.; SELING, B.; SCHINZER, C.; EHMANN, A.; KEMMLER-SACK, S.; ROSENBERG, M.; J.
