Reliability assessment of the collision between marine risers

Abstract

My first and foremost thanks go to Dr. Low Ying Min, my research supervisor, who has been dedicated to reliability analyses of various offshore structures. Dr. Low selected a good topic for my Ph.D. program and initiated my research successfully not to mention the great help along the path. My sincere thanks and appreciation goes to all his criticisms on me, because the one who criticizes you is the one who really cares about you. Dr. Low once told me that he loved every aspect of his research. I will treat this as an ideal attitude towards my future career. I look forward to future opportunities to interact with him on projects and papers. For my beloved partner, Lu Jingyi, words cannot express how much she has been so supportive on the way to my Ph.D. I am indebted to her understanding and encouragement.
