Abstract:The paper summarises the results of investigation on two different composite systems with a TZP matrix: one containing tungsten carbide particles and the other -metallic tungsten grains. Composites powders were manufactured by simple mixing of constituent phases in an attritor mill and subsequently hot-pressed. Microscopic observations of sintered bodies showed that microstructures of the composites were different. Selected mechanical parameters (including of the Weibull modulus) were determined.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
