Reliable stabilization and H<inf>∞</inf> control for switched systems with faulty actuators: An average dwell time approach

Abstract: This paper deals with the issues of observer-based reliable stabilization and H∞ control for a class of continuoustime switched Lipschitz nonlinear systems in the sense that actuators suffer a "destabilizing failure". When the never-faulty actuators cannot stabilize the corresponding system, the closedloop switched systems can still be exponentially stable based on the average dwell time scheme. Under the condition requiring that activation time ratio between stabilizable subsystems and unstabilizable ones is … Show more

“…In Theorem 1, a new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional candidate, which is allowed to increase during the running time of active subsystems, is constructed for the controller design. The result is obtained by using delta operator approach, which is different from the results presented in the literature (Li et al, 2009;Xiang and Wang, 2010). In addition, the result proposed in Theorem 1 can cover the result of Qin et al (2013) as a special case, where the actuator faults and asynchronous switching are not considered.…”

“…Thus, the reliable control problem has recently attracted great attention (Seo and Kim, 1996;Wang, 1998;Wang et al, 2002;Xiang and Wang, 2009b). Among the existing studies, the reliable stabilization problem for switched systems with faulty actuators has been solved (Li et al, 2009;. On the other hand, since it takes time to identify the active subsystem and apply the matched controller, the switching time of controllers may lag behind that of practical subsystems, which results in asynchronous switching between the controllers and system modes.…”
