Relic densities of dark matter in the U(1)-extended NMSSM and the gauged axion supermultiplet

Abstract: We compute the dark matter relic densities of neutralinos and axions in a supersymmetric model with a gauged anomalous U (1) symmetry. The model is a variant of the USSM (the U (1) extended NMSSM), containing an extra U (1) symmetry and an extra singlet in the superpotential respect to the MSSM, where gauge invariance is restored by Peccei-Quinn interactions using a Stückelberg multiplet. This approach introduces an axion (Im b) and a saxion (Re b) in the spectrum and generates an axino component for the neutr… Show more

“…We also recall that the partnership between dilatons and axions is not new in the context of anomalies, and it has been studied in the past -for abelian gauge anomalies -in the case of the supersymmetric Stückelberg multiplet [15][16][17][18].…”

“…The simplest case is the T V V in the full electroweak theory, where V , in this case, denotes on-shell photons. At one loop level it is given by the vertex Γ µναβ and expanded onto two terms 18) where Σ µναβ (p, q) is a full irreducible contribution derived from the set of diagrams given in the appendices and depicted in figures 11, corresponding to topologies of triangles, bubbles and tadpoles. In this case Σ µναβ (p, q) is given by the expression [11,35,36] 19) JHEP06 (2014)136 corresponding to the exchange of fermions (Σ F ), gauge bosons (Σ B ) and to a term of improvement (Σ I ).…”

“…In the supersymmetic context a similar scenario, with two dark matter candidates has been discussed in [81,82]. The role of this pseudoscalar state, in the context of the recent results by FERMI about the 1-3 GeV excess gamma-ray signal from the galactic center [65,66] is under investigation for this model [83].…”

“…All the local forms of such actions introduce one extra degree of freedom, in the form of a dilaton field. In the context of supersymmetric theories, the dilaton field turns into a multiplet with a dilaton, an axion and an axino and can be described by a Stückelberg-like Lagrangian [100] which has implications at a phenomenological level in the dark matter sector of supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model. A dilaton could be the result of some strong dynamics and realizes a matching of the anomaly in the IR, the same anomaly that is identified, dynamically, by the emergence of anomaly poles in the UV expression of the correlator.…”
