Remote Sensor for Spatial Measurements by Using Optical Scanning

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a low-cost contact-free measurement system for both 3-D data acquisition and fast surface parameter registration by digitized points. Despite the fact that during the last decade several approaches for both contact-free measurement techniques aimed at carrying out object surface recognition and 3-D object recognition have been proposed, they often still require complex and expensive equipment. Therefore, alternative low cost solutions are in great demand. Here, two low-cost solutions … Show more

“…For example, it was successfully applied for resolution improvement in various metrological tasks related to repetitive pulse cycles buried in noise of different nature. As an example, it is important to mention the optimized positioning of the repetitive pulses of response in a task of circular optical scanning in the application of structural health monitoring [26] or a in similar application of technical vision system for robot navigation [27]- [34]. In both cases, the method of rational approximation and its mathematical techniques gave the possibility to measure the desired value of unknown parameters several times better.…”

“…Эта система по сравнению с другими имеет широкий угол обзора (до 160°) и идеально подходит для работы в совершенно темных условиях, что совершенно невозможно для систем с камерами. В системе используется метод, называемый динамической триангуляцией [17] . Система рассчитывает декартовы координаты по двум обнаруженным углам Bij и Cij (в данном конкретном случае ij -шаги горизонтального и вертикального сканирования) лазера подсвеченной точки и фиксирует расстояние между проектором и приемником.…”

“…PL has its step drive, which on a command from the onboard computer can turn PL in a horizontal plane at each for one angle pitch (Rivas et al, 2008). On the other end of the bar is a) b) located a scanning aperture (SA) (Sergiyenko et al, 2009). Bi is the angle detected and Ci is the output angle of the laser.…”
