“…It was also clear that the presence of TiO2 in the prepared material significantly enhanced the crystallinity of the PAC. Moreover, one diffraction peaks appearing at 37.72° and 54.96° were due to the formation of rutile TiO2 on the PAC surface, while two other intense peaks of anatase TiO2 appear at 25.16° and 47.72° [34,35]. It should be noted that some miscellaneous peaks were observed in the tetragonal structure of (101) and (200) due to the high concentrations of Si in the PAC ash.…”

“…Nevertheless, the authors considered this material a potential catalyst for removing pollutants. Chandrabose et al [ 149 ] assessed the photocatalytic efficiency of MoS 2 /TiO 2 composite in a solution comprising a mixture of anionic dyes (rhodamine B and methyl orange) and cationic dyes (methylene blue and crystal violet). The composite removed 100% of cationic dyes and 70% of the anionic dyes in the first stage of adsorption in the dark, while the remaining 30% of anionic dyes were photodegraded entirely after 3.5 h in a second stage under UV-Vis light irradiation.…”

“…It is pertinent to highlight that all treatment methods have their own technical and economic limitations for real-life applications. However, photocatalysis technique is one important method as it prevents to form the secondary pollutants [5].…”
