Abstract:The removal of elemental mercury (Hg0) with the reactive species produced by gas phase surface discharge plasma was studied. The effects of several operational parameters, such as applied voltage, inlet Hg0concentration and gas humidity, were investigated. The removal of Hg0was significantly promoted by an increase in the applied voltage of the reactor system. Hg0oxidation efficiency decreases with increasing inlet Hg0concentration. Furthermore, with the addition of H2O, Hg0oxidation is remarkably restrained.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
