Abstract:Unmodified and iron-modified hydrogels were synthesized from polyvinyl alcohol and polyvinylpyrrolidone; these materials were used for the adsorption of fluoride ions from an aqueous solution. The structural and morphological characteristics of the unmodified (HG) and modified (HG-Fe) hydrogels were determined by means of hydration percentage, point of zero charge (PZC), infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and dispersive energy spectroscopy (EDS). The parameters considered in the a… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
