Removal of Silicon Impurity from Molten Brass Using an Innovative ZnO-containing Slag

Abstract: The elimination kinetics of silicon impurity from molten brass by a novel ZnO-Na 2 O-B 2 O 3 -Na 2 CO 3 slag has been studied. The influence of temperature, initial concentrations of Si in molten brass, and initial concentrations of SiO 2 in liquid slag on the kinetics of the reaction was investigated.
