Renal Aspergillosis in a Patient with Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome

Abstract: Renal aspergillosis is a fungal infection caused by Aspergillus, which develops in immunocompromised patients. We report the case of a patient with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), who developed renal aspergillosis. He underwent abdominal tomography (computerized tomography) which showed an abscess in his left kidney. A nephrectomy was performed, and pathology revealed Aspergillus conidia.
