Renal colic: Radiological approach

Abstract: Acute flank pain is commonly caused by urolithiasis. This paper discusses advantages and disadvantages of procedures used for evaluation of acute flank pain. In our institution, the diagnostic algorithm includes ultrasonography and plain film radiography, and unenhanced spiral CT in equivocal cases.
