Renewable Energy and Energy Innovations: Examining Relationships Using Markov Switching Regression Model

Abstract: Accelerating the development of new energy infrastructure in the EU based on renewable energy sources is necessary for the targeted reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and increase in energy production from renewable sources. This article reviews current renewable energy development issues and research on energy innovations within the European energy policy. The effectiveness of energy generation from renewable resources and adaptation of energy innovations may be limited to the challenges of ensuring the fl… Show more

“…The issue of the relationship between green investments and green energy is quite relevant in the scientific community. Scientists use various economic and mathematical methods and models to investigate this connection, such as the Markov switching regression model [38], bibliometric analysis [39], and panel regression models [40,41]. Research shows that green bonds, as one of the instruments of green investments, are an effective method for promoting projects related to renewable energy sources and aimed at reducing CO 2 emissions in the long term [42,43].…”

“…At the core of this collective endeavor lies a critical issue: the manner in which energy is harnessed and consumed. Sustainable development, which involves the encapsulation of economic prosperity, social equity, and environmental responsibility, compels a confrontation with the pressing need for transformative energy solutions [4][5][6]. Grappling with the urgency of sustainable development reveals the energy landscape as a linchpin in the quest for a harmonious coexistence of human aspirations and planetary well-being [7][8][9].…”

“…The party central committee began to continue to focus on green development for high-quality development in a series of long-term projects. It could be realized by extending green technology innovation (Arefieva et al, 2021), which is an important driver of energy conservation, declining emissions reduction (Kolosok et al, 2022;Gavkalova et al, 2022) and improving the green low carbon cycle development economic system (Veckalne and Tambovceva, 2021). As the "master" of the market, enterprises have an indispensable responsibility in promoting green and sustainable development, and they should work hard on the research of green technology innovation and produce real results (Van ı ckov a and Szczepa nska-Woszczyna, 2020).…”
