Renewable energy technology innovation and inclusive low-carbon development from the perspective of spatiotemporal consistency

Abstract: As an emerging driving factor, the positive impact of renewable energy technology innovation (RETI) on inclusive low-carbon development (ILCD) may be undervalued or even neglected. This paper develops an evaluation system to measure China’s ILCD by using provincial panel data from 2006 to 2020. Based on the combined perspective of spatial spillover effect and threshold effect, this paper examines the spatial spillover effects and the regional boundary of RETI on ILCD in different periods and further analyzes f… Show more

“…They also explored the spatial effects of REIT on inclusive low-carbon development and its regional boundaries. The research findings suggest that REITs have a significant impact on promoting inclusive low-carbon development in the region and its surrounding areas, exhibiting a regional pattern of 'high in the east, low in the west' [26]. This heterogeneity is influenced by factors such as the market, environmental regulation, technological R&D, industrial structure, energy consumption structure, and government competition.…”

“…Additionally, monitoring costs can be relatively low because many resources can be used. 1) Tax Rates Theoretically, tax rates are applied to fuels that contain carbon or are related to CO2 emissions from industry or domestic consumers [24]. This theory also suggests that tax rates will increase as the rate of increase in marginal damages from emissions increases.…”
