Repair of partial patellar ligament avulsion during total knee arthroplasty using the Statak device

Abstract: The Statak is a suture anchor device used for attaching soft tissue to bone. This is a report on six knees in which this device was used to repair partial avulsion of the patellar ligament during total knee arthroplasty (TKA). The six patients were all women. The average age of the patients was 69 years. The diagnosis was osteoarthritis in three patients, rheumatoid arthritis in two, and steroid arthropathy in one. Three of the operations were revision arthroplasties. In all six cases, approximately half of th… Show more

“…Figure 3 shows the isotropic absorption spectra of CV in the absence (dotted line) and the presence (solid and dashed lines) of MK-10 at two D/S values in (c), and the corresponding reduced dichroism spectra at 3 kV/cm in (a) and (b). These absorption spectra are very close to those previously reported for CV-clay solutions (38,39) and for many CV-polyelectrolyte complexes, such as polyphosphates (24,26), DNA (25), and poly(α,L-glutamic acid) (27), to name a few. The broadening of the spectrum and the appearance of the so-called metachromatic bands in the presence of MK-10 ( Fig.…”

“…Because some isotropic absorption spectra of the present CV-and MG-MK-10 suspensions are associated with background light scattering, no definite isosbestic point was observed in a series of optical titrations in the visible wavelength region. Thus, the extended-principal component-analysis method could not be applied to determine the number of bound dye species and the pure bound spectra as before (26,27). In the present work, therefore, only a single bound CV (and also MG) species (k = 1 and c k = c in Eq.…”
