Abstract

Sir, We read with interest this article on the use of overlapping dorsal and ventral grafts for focal severely stenotic or obliterative urethral segments [ 1 ] . We do not agree with the ventral incision on the penis that the authors have described for approaching isolated pendulous strictures. As the authors have then performed a ventral urethrotomy there is a risk of fi stula formation later on. A circumcoronal incision with penile degloving is a much better option [ 2 ] . The authors describe double graft placement in two men with panurethral stricture also. We were wondering whether adequate buccal graft can be harvested for covering such long segments. In our experience, the amount of buccal graft available falls short in men with panurethral disease, even when it is applied on one side only.
