In general, continuum methods, like the fourcategory method, have consistently demonstrated that repressors report low anxiety while simultaneously exhibiting high levels of physiological arousal (e.g., Coifman, Bonanno, Ray, & Gross, 2007;Pauls & Stemmler, 2003).
