Abstract: The study was carried out to elaborate the reproductive aspects, including size at sexual maturity, reproductive season, reproductive potential, and egg size of Glossogobius giuris from Manchar lake, Sindh, Pakistan for the first time. Manchar lake is polluted lake, it is situated in district Jamshoro. The survey was conducted from February to December 2010. “…Glossogobius giuris (Hamilton) is a euryhaline, amphidromous species that is commonly associated with estuaries, streams and lakes of the Indo-west Pacific (Hossain, Ohtomi, Ahmed, Ibrahim, & Jasmine, 2009). It can spawn in freshwater or saline waters, and although typically amphidromous, there are also populations that complete their entire life cycle in lakes (Larson, Britz, & Sparks, 2016;Qambrani et al, 2015). The Yangtze estuary is at the northern edge of its range, and G. giuris is comparatively rare in recent surveys compared with other species at this location which is likely the limiting factor for its invasive potential in this system (Hong et al, 2012;Larson et al, 2016;.…”

“…Furthermore, this difference was supported by the results of the T-test analysis (p <0.05), meaning that there was a significant difference between the gonadosomatic index of O. aporos and G. giuris. According to (Qambrani et al 2016) G. giuris in Manchar Lake experience gonad maturity throughout the year and its peak is in April-June. Meanwhile, according to Sulistiono (2012), G. giuris in Ujung Pangka waters, East Java, has a peak spawning season in July-August.…”
