Reproductive Strategy of Aegiceras corniculatum L. (Blanco.) - A Mangrove Species, in MNP&S, Gujarat, India

Abstract: Mangroves occur in the tropical and subtropical inter-tidal regions of the world. Owing to their locations, they are expected to have a reproductive strategy which can facilitate generalized pollination. The present work has examined the floral biology, breeding system, pollinator resource and their efficiency, and the reproductive strategy of Aegiceras corniculatum L. (Blanco) at three islands (three populations) in Marine National Park and Sanstuary (MNP&S), Gulf of Kachchh, Gujarat, India. The temporal rela… Show more

“…Following the last point in the discussion section, for example, scholars can consider creativity and innovativeness, the measurement of which public management scholars have been trying to improve (Pandey, Pandey, & Miller, 2016 Yang, 2016), but when they do, is it due to a personnel system that allows them to challenge the authority (e.g., supervisors not in full charge of performance appraisal)? Designing some vignette questions to solicit the answers is a possible alternative.…”

“…During this period, Goran and Keora trees flourish, reaching their peak in both flowering and fruiting . Conversely, Khulsi flowers have a shorter blooming phase, lasting about 21 days, resulting in comparatively lower pollen levels . Our study successfully captured images of Goran pollen in the majority of instances, providing a convenient visual aid for further analysis.…”

“…Pollinators and their activity on mangroves of Kerala are less documented, however, in the eastern coasts, pollination biology of Avicennia species in the Coringa forest was documented by Raju et al (2012). Studies on the reproductive strategies in Aegiceras corniculatum (L.) Blanco in the Gujarat coast was done by Pandey & Pandey (2014). The pollinators of mangroves from Sundarbans were carried out by Mitra et al (2015).…”
