Research of Aerodynamic Characteristics of Asbestos-Cement Dust in the Ventilation Emissions to the Atmosphere

Abstract: The article describes the chemical properties of asbestos-cement dust and its effect on the human body. The main sources of dust emission at the enterprise for the production of asbestos-cement have been determined. Also in this research were determined the aerodynamic properties of particles of asbestos dust at the plant for the production of asbestos by method of fractional sedimentation. In the course of the experiment, the dispersion composition of dust was determined by the method of sedimentometry and an… Show more

“…Currently, in a number of countries, including Russia, determined the content in the atmospheric air of particles with the size of not more than 2.5 μm (PM2.5) and not more than 10 μm (PM10), because dust particles of ultra-dispersal size is the most dangerous, these particles can infiltrate into the human lungs. A system for monitoring and evaluating the concentration and composition of small sized particles in storage facilities is currently absent, which does not allow an objective evaluation of the dust impact on the quality of the working environment and air emissions [1][2][3][4].…”
