Research of integral parameters for furnaces of a circulating fluidized bed

Abstract: Abstract. Modern society poses several energy problems. Improving the efficiency and reliability of power equipment and reduce the impact on the environment. The paper presents the promising technology of superheated steam using different coals. The model of the furnace with a circulating fluidized bed and numerical simulation results of gas dynamic processes using application FIRE 3D. The analysis of aerodynamics and the distribution of the dispersed phase adjustment of the furnace.

“…In most recent Eulerian-Eulerian model constitutive equations according to the kinetic theory of granular flow are incorporated [4][5][6]. Though physical characteristic of the solid particles such as the shape and size are included in the continuum representation through the empirical relations for the interfacial friction, these models do not recognize the discrete character of the solid phase [3]. Baseline: project fuel -anthracite; fuel consumption BP = 9.74 kg/s; the volume of primary and secondary air 5.79/1.07; diameter of coal particles is 2.5 mm; the temperature from below 600 ○ C, in burners 300 ○ C; the air velocity below 1.5 m/s.…”

“…Completeness of fuel combustion, the workload of the fluidized bed and gas-dynamic processes in the furnace are poorly understood, that lowers the reliability of boiler unit work ( fig. 1) [2,3].…”

“…In this study, the Euler-Lagrange aerothermochemical technique of describing processes by the FIRE 3D application package on the base was used [5,6]. Turbulent gas properties are calculated using the "k-H" two-parameter turbulence model.…”

“…In the fundamentals-oriented models, the modeling of the fluid dynamics is attempted with the currently available fundamental theories, such as the Eulerian-Eulerian multiphase models applying the kinetic theory of granular flow. In the practice-oriented models (or engineering models), the theories are simplified and adjusted by empirical correlations to improve the calculation speed and fit the model results with the measured data [1,2]. In this paper, the 3-D model simulation of the aerodynamic structure of CFB boiler has been resolved by applying ANSYS FLUENT 12.1.…”
