Abstract: The title molecule (E)-2-(3-(5-(3-nitrophenyl)furan-2-yl)acryloyl)-3,4-dihydronaphthalen-1(2H)-one (ENFADH) was completed by combining aromatic aldehydes with methyl ketones using Claisen-Schmidt condensation. The NMR, FTIR, and UV-visible investigations were used to characterize the novel chalcones.
