Research on green supply chain: a bibliometric analysis

Abstract: Recently, the emergent concept of green supply chain has received increasing attention. Although popular among scholars, many literature reviews have only examined GSC from a general point of view or focused on a specific issue related to GSC. This study presents a comprehensive analysis of the influence and productivity of research on GSC from 1995 to 2017 by reporting trends among authors, countries and institutions based on a bibliometric approach. To this end, the study analyses around 1900 papers on GSC. … Show more

“…In this research, with a broad approach and relationship with different research areas, 111 categories are denoted, especially related to the agricultural, environmental and economic aspects. Compared to a bibliometric study of Covid-19 using a Scopus database, the documents were classified into four different areas: health sciences, physical sciences, life sciences, social sciences, and humanities (Amirbagheri et al, 2019;Aristovnik et al, 2020); possibly due to the relevance of the issue related to the pandemic and the search for the vaccine and health effects.…”

“…The usefulness of the Thesaurus model in the worldwide use of records with keywords, and improved search retrieval in databases (Elsevier, 2020), translate into improvements in the methodology of fractional counting of citations and grouping of the variable level with a maximum limit of group size (Amirbagheri et al, 2019;Guadalupe & León, 2019). For example, the number of authors, citations or references of a publication (Perianes et al, 2016).…”

“…Although "IFIP Advances in Information and Communication Technology" and "Sustainability Switzerland" have more than 10 documents, their SJR factor and average citation per document are quite low. As pointed out by Amirbagheri et al (2018) and Jelvehgaran Esfahani et al (2019), a valuable point of view is obtained by data on authors, universities and countries of papers citing the topic under study. This analysis provides essential information about sustainability and digitalization in the supply chain literature.…”

“…Although the abovementioned literature review, as well as other works, provides valuable information on the state of the literature on sustainable and digital supply chains, there is still much need for a bibliometric approach for analyzing this literature (Amirbagheri et al, 2018). Bibliometric studies are becoming very popular in the scientific literature, strongly motivated by access to bibliographic information .…”

“…The available studies reveal that researchers have used bibliometric tools to examine the existing literature related to various green and sustainable offerings, processes, and practices like green manufacturing [ 37 ], green supply chain [ 36 , 38 ], green innovation [ 39 ], green building [ 40 ], green energy [ 41 ], sustainable construction [ 42 ], sustainable design [ 43 ], and sustainable manufacturing [ 44 ]. However, hardly any study has attempted to undertake a bibliometric analysis of the literature in the field of green products.…”
