“…We speculate that internally directed coping responses are associated with CQ capabilities and are more likely to be deployed by HCNs with higher CQ. Such HCNs can rely on their ability to learn and adapt their behaviors to suit unexpected situations during intercultural interactions (Richter et al, 2020) and regulate their social and internally planned behaviors to avoid misattributions or misunderstandings (Liao and Thomas, 2020).
