Research on Mechanical Behaviour of Cement Mortar with High-Volume Coal Gangue

Abstract: With the fast development of modern industry, the fact that coal dominates the main energy structure will not change for a long time. While the output of coal gangue has accounted for 15%~20% in that of coal. Therefore, coal gangue has become one of the greatest contributions to industrially discharged solid waste in China currently. Nowadays the comprehensive utilization ratio is less than 20%, so there is so much room for the activity and comprehensive utilization of coal gangue. In this article, coal gangue… Show more

“…The annual emissions of coal gangue in China is about 150–200 million tons. Coal gangue causes solid, liquid and gas pollution, which not only wastes resources, energy and occupies a large amount of land, but also pollutes the environment seriously [1–3]. The application of coal gangue in concrete can not only reduce the environmental burden and pollution, but also the exploitation of natural aggregate, which is of great significance to sustainable development.…”

“…In recent years, the utilization of coal gangue has attracted the attention of a large number of scholars. Qiu et al [6] investigated the influence of calcined coal gangue content on the mechanical behavior of cement mortar. Zhao et al [7] proposed that coal gangue can be employed as a primary cementitious material after being modified by an activation method.…”
