Research on online sag monitoring of transmission lines based on barometric pressure

Abstract: Transmission line is an important part of power system, and sag is an important parameter to evaluate the running state of transmission line. Because of the complex system and the high power consumption of online monitoring application used nowdays, this paper proposes an online sag monitoring system based on high precision barometer and relative height measurement method. Firstly, precision barometer will be installed in the middle of line to calculate the relative height of measuring points. Secondly, the sp… Show more

“…Barometer can measure the height or the altitude through the change in air pressure. Hence, in [93], two barometers were used: one installed at the bottom of the span and the other on the support tower. Then their air pressures were measured to calculate the altitudes as hbadbreak=(T+273.15)()(101.325/P)15.25710.0065,$$\begin{equation} h=\frac{(T+273.15){\left((101.325/P)^{\frac{1}{5.257}}-1\right)}}{0.0065}, \end{equation}$$where P is the atmospheric pressure measured in kPa and T is the temperature in degrees.…”

“…Based on the data return of the front-end monitoring equipment, based on the wire fitting algorithm, and combined with the line GIM model, it can realize the fitting of the running state of the transmission line in the three-dimensional scene, can directly display the line corridor and equipment layout, and provide detailed equipment information for the operation and maintenance personnel, which is helpful to fault diagnosis, equipment maintenance and daily inspection [7,8] . This study constructs the GIM three-dimensional fitting model of the pilot application line, and the effect is shown in the following figure 7.…”
