Abstract:A new multi-pitch extrusion machine for producing the enhanced heat transfer tube with dimples is proposed for the first time. The goal of the present study is to investigate the forming mechanism and establish a mechanical behavior prediction model for dimpled tubes. The response surface methodology with central composite design was adopted to identify the relationships between independent variables (extrusion depth, pitch, and teeth radius) and responses (stress, plastic strain, and excursion force). The val… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
